YouTube Chat Display Name Converter Extension

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) sets forth how user information is handled in providing this extension (the “Extension”).

Article 1 (Purpose of the Extension)

The Extension is intended to make live chat messages easier to read by converting the “@handle (ID)” displayed in YouTube live chat to the traditional display name (username) for streamers and viewers.

The Extension operates solely to improve user experience.

Article 2 (Scope of Information Collected)

The Extension handles the following information as necessary.

  • 1. Public information displayed on YouTube (display name, @handle, channel ID, comment content, etc.)
  • 2. Identifiers required for operation (client ID, license key, recovery key, etc.)
  • 3. Settings (display styles, display rules, NG words, scope, etc.)
  • 4. Premium purchase/restore data (checkout session ID, purchase status, etc.)
  • 5. Information provided by users when contacting support (email address, message content, etc.)

The Extension does not collect or store personal information such as name, address, phone number, date of birth, Google/YouTube login credentials, or credit card details.

Article 3 (Method of Information Collection)

The Extension processes public information shown on YouTube live chat by temporarily reading it in the browser.

When using Premium features, the Extension receives license keys or recovery keys entered by the user.

Payments are handled by Stripe, and the Company does not store credit card numbers or other payment credentials.

Article 4 (Purposes of Use)

The information handled by the Extension is used only for the following purposes.

  • 1. To display names appropriately on YouTube live chat
  • 2. To provide the Extension's functionality properly
  • 3. To improve display stability and usability

The information will not be used for any purposes other than those set forth above.

Article 5 (External Transmission)

The Extension transmits information to external servers only as necessary to provide its features.

  • 1. Firebase/Google Cloud (storage of settings, license status, and verification)
  • 2. Stripe (payment processing and session verification)
  • 3. Resend (sending verification codes by email)

The transmitted information is limited to the minimum required for operation, such as license keys, recovery keys, client IDs, session IDs, and email addresses.

Article 6 (Prohibition of Third-Party Provision)

The Company will not provide, sell, lend, or share information with third parties.

This does not apply when disclosure is required by law or when transmission to external services is necessary to provide the Service.

Article 7 (Data Storage)

The Extension may store data on servers as necessary to provide Premium features and synchronize settings.

  • 1. License status, recovery keys, and client IDs
  • 2. Display styles, display rules, and NG words
  • 3. User management (registered users and channel data)
  • 4. Purchase history (session IDs and status)

Stored data is limited to what is necessary to provide the Service.

Article 8 (Use of Local Storage)

The Extension stores minimal settings and temporary data in local storage (Chrome storage) to operate properly.

Data stored locally remains on the user’s device and is not shared with third parties.

Article 9 (Use of Cookies)

The Extension does not use its own cookies.

The Extension also does not intentionally use third-party cookies.

Article 10 (Analytics and Tracking)

The Extension does not perform analytics, tracking, or behavioral analysis for the purpose of tracking user activity.

Article 11 (Security Measures)

The Extension is designed to minimize the information it handles and to mitigate unauthorized access, information leakage, and tampering.

However, due to the nature of the internet and browsers, complete security cannot be guaranteed.

Article 12 (Privacy of Minors)

The Extension is not intended for users under 13 years of age.

The Extension does not intentionally collect personal information from users under 13 years of age.

Article 13 (Changes to the Policy)

The Policy may be revised as necessary.

If there are important changes, we will notify users via the Chrome Web Store listing or other appropriate means.

Article 14 (Disclaimer)

The developer assumes no responsibility for any damages arising from use of the Extension.

However, this does not apply where liability cannot be waived under applicable law.

Article 16 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
